how long will coffee beans be edible for?
i dont care how the ground coffee tastes… Im going to make chocolate covered coffee beans and I have an old starbucks bag that has a good amount left… any reason not to just use these… the beans arent going to be like spoiled milk right and actually have the possibility of making someone sick? they just might not taste like fresh right? they will be covered with chocolate so im not search how bad it could actually be then

Coffee beans do not "go bad" if kept in a dry, cool environment. They will begin to lose flavor and become less crisp, though, much like crunchy cereal. No, it is extremely unlikely that they will make anyone sick.
well a good way to tell is the chocolate coating, old chocolate will usually start to oxides and form white coating. Coffee beans last a very long time so you should be good. Unless it is growing mold you should not have a problem.
