Your numbers are acceptable, considering that you ate before taking your readings. The current American Diabetes Association standards are that after meal blood glucose shouldn't exceed 140 for nondiabetics. Readings between 140 and 200 indicate prediabetes and anything over 200 is in the diabetic range. So neither of your readings puts you anywhere close to a diagnosis of diabetes.

My real advice to you is to stop taking blood glucose measurements at such oddly timed intervals after eating. The standard way to measure your blood sugar is either first thing in the morning after fasting all night, or by waiting for two hours after a meal. Doing it this way will help produce more consistent numbers over time.

those numbers are not horrible...wonder why someone not diabetic would be taking bg readings....
anyhow, the best thing is not advice from your doctor, but the results from aic test is most important.....

It's 100% normal for a non diabetic's blood sugar to spike temporarily - and much higher than 140. Drink a regular soda, like pepsi, and wait 15-20 minutes and check it. I'll likely be around 160. It takes time for your body's insulin to release and break down the carbs.

Diabetics see things like headaches as a potential warning for high blood sugar, and should check their blood sugar just to be sure.

Nearly everything you ate had carbs in it, a low amount or not.

Did it occur to you that you just had a headache? It's nothing to rush into the doctor's office over.
