Is the hot water from a water cooler hot enough to brew coffee?
I’m pretty picky about how and where I get my coffee. I don’t want to waste the little I have left by making coffee out of a french press here at the office. Do you think the water is hot enough from a standard water cooler ‘hot’ valve to do this?

NO! the water cooler will give you water at 120 degrees or less…. and the bare minimum to brew coffee at, is 185. You will have poor coffee if you do this.
Also, do not microwave it, before or after the brew. You’ll notice a foul, flat taste.
find out how hot it is. At the shop we use water that above 200 degrees.
The hot water from my water cooler isn’t hot enough.
Do you have a microwave to heat the water? It will turn out hotter.
Normally, the temperature is set to about 98 degrees Centigrade, just below boiling. It is a good temperature to brew most coffee.
