What exactly is sumatran coffee? Isn’t a coffee bean a coffee bean? Isn’t it the processing method that makes Sumatran different from say French roast? Also, I read on the bag that my Sumatran coffee is arabica beans, which only makes me think that other coffees (like French roast) and Sumatran are pretty much the same, just that it differs in roasting….?

If you have the whole beans for a light roasted coffee, can you roast the beans darker to get a stronger french roast type coffee? Can you do this under a typical oven broiler, or is there another way?

I’ve never made coffee before, only had cappuccinos at Starbucks. I found my parents’ old coffee grinder and some French Roast and tried to make it. I ground the coffee and randomly decided to mix it in the blender. So it tastes okay, but is coffee supposed to have tiny little chunks of beans in it? (
by the way, don’t think I’m stupid for asking that last thing, because I’m only 12 and pre-made cappuccinos don’t have little chunks in them.

I just tried the 8 O’Clock coffee (whole bean) in French Roast. OMG it’s so good. I’ve never used this brand before but it sure is worth the price.

I just bought a French press and followed the directions of one rounded tablespoon per 4 ounces of water and the coffee was like lacquer thinner — so strong I couldn’t even judge how much less to use for the next pot.
I’m using regular grind Starbucks French roast and I like a strong cup of coffee. Can anyone answer before my water boils? :-)
Is that per regular 8 ounce cup or their silly 6 ounce cup suggesstion?

Well, I’m going to visit my grandparents, and they’re a bit paranoid so all my luggage is now carry-on. But I was going through some stuff, and even my face cleanser is being put into that little baggy thing. My grandparents also requested that I bring Peets French Roast — 1 lb. And since all these precautions are used for my toiletries, I’m wondering if I’m going to be allowed to bring the coffee beans?
If it helps, it’s an international flight as well…

I’m thinking about Cafe Belmondo but I don’t want a bad tasting coffee like gevalia. I like all medium to dark folgers and medium to dark bodied bean coffee. French roast, columbian, and gourma. I’m looking to join a coffee club that offers great tasting coffee. Can you help me? Thank you.

I’m trying to figure out if I’m wanting a lighter roast or a darker roast. Right now I have a medium roast coffee. I think I like the full taste of a coffee, if the roast is darker does this mean there is a fuller taste? The one I have now taste like coffee, but it feels empty. If that makes any sense. What kind of dark roast bean should I try? French Roast, Colombian Roast??? theres so many! i dont have the time to try all of them!
