I have a Mr. Coffee maker and every since the first pot, always makes burnt tasting coffee. Not only does it taste burnt, but as it brews, it reaks of burnt coffee. I obviously can’t take it back, but what could be the problem?

I’ve used all different kinds of coffee, I’ve cleaned it with vinegar, and I use cold water. The coffee at coffee shops is so amazing, but I can’t seem to make it at home! This is my second coffee maker (2 different brands) and both made gross coffee. Help! My espresso maker is the same way too.

Hi, everyone!
I have found mold inside my coffee maker. How do I clean it with? With vinegar or with something else?
Thank you,

I’m making a two layer chocolate cake and using a jar of hot fudge topping as the icing. I’ve never had to bake a cake ahead of time and I was wondering if it will dry out if I do. If I do make it ahead of time, should I frost ahead of time also or wait? What is the best way to store it? Any tips would be appreciated!
I’m not sure whether the cake ingredients will make a difference on the answer so I’m posting them just in case:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups white sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup cold brewed coffee
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vinegar
What about the frosting – should I wait to frost it?

We have a Bunn coffee maker that has a "two pot" water reservoir, so when you add water there is an instant brewing process because there already is hot water inside. This week I noticed that the flow was literally down to a drip, now it takes triple the time to brew a pot of coffee. How do I get it to flow better? All I see is the vinegar method, but I’m afraid, with the reservoir, that I’ll never be able to get all the vinegar rinsed out. I’ve heard of the term "delime." Is there any special procedure or product for this?

I have a standard, run of the mill, coffee maker. No timer or fancy gadgets. Just on and off. Is there a safe way to clean the insides? I think I heard a while back of running vinegar or something through the brew cycle but I could be wrong.

I don’t have any vinegar or baking soda in the house, what else can I use to run through my coffee maker to clean it?

My boyfriend cooked dinner last night. He used the electric skillet, and used green peppers. He happened to be working by the coffee maker… and then this morning when he went to make coffee, the coffee tasted like green peppers. We tried running vinegar through the pot, but that didn’t work either?

It has burnt on coffee and stuff and I’m wondering if there is any way I can clean it off so it’s not caked on there anymore. Also Will a coffee maker still work okay if has gotten throughly wet? I had to scrub the crap outta it and it ended up getting wet where you set the clock and read the time on the bottom.
I had to scrub it because it had a lot of buildup of oils or what not where you add the water that vinegar was not getting.

We have a French Press Coffee Maker (it’s small for just 2 cups), my husband got it as a present over ten years ago. I LOVE IT!

However, lately, my coffee just doesn’t seem to be as good as it use to. I buy organice coffee that I grind myself. I’m just looking for a better technique for a better coffee??

How do you store your coffee for the best flavor and freshness???

Do you grind your own or is it pre-ground???

Some people have told me not to boil my water, because it scalds the beans??? Is this true?

How many beans is too much? (I normally spoon it 4 large spoons)

How long do you let your coffee before you press it??

I don’t know if I forgot something or if it just the way I am making it these days, but my coffee seems too strong and lacking in flavor(which I thought I would never admit). Plus I can’t find that ideal taste anymore. Sometimes I feel like it a sludge almost.

I’ve tried less coffee but it’s like water.

Any suggestions???

Thanks!
I grind my beans on a weekly basis at the begining of the week, & store them in a sir tight ceramic containter in the fridge.

Some people say to use the freezer, but I have been told that takes out the oils in the beans.

I’m lost and needing guidence …!
That was subpose to be "air tight" container … sorry.
I rinse the coffee press daily and clean it on the weekends.

I will try the vinegar idea with my kettle, that is a good thought.

I use good water for my coffee, so I am content with that.
