The bean is the seed. You need a raw, unroasted bean if you want to plant it. Go ask your local coffee company for a bean to plant. They import burlap bags of beans and roast them, then distribute them to the Coffee stands and shops.
Do be aware, coffee isn’t grown in the U.S. because it takes years for a coffee bush / small tree to produce beans, and they are labor intensive.
Coffee must be picked by hand because each bean ripens at a different time and a machine can’t distinguish between a ripe bean and a green bean next to it.
The hard, cold uncomfortable facts are: Because of the amount of labor involved, Coffee must be grown in areas where peasants can be exploited for pennys each day, or the coffee at your favorite barrista would cost you $10. a cup.
