Where is your favorite place to read?
Time of the day? Weather?
I read no matter where I am, what time it is, or what the weather is, however, my favorite time to read is in the fall/winter when it’s cold and either raining or snowing. I curl up in a blanket on the couch with a fire going and a pot of winter spice coffee brewing. What’s yours?
madhavan, why do you say that?

On a treadmill because I prefer to walk while I read and that way I won’t get run over by a car or a biker. What Belle does in the beginning of Beauty and the Beast–yeah, doesn’t work well with me. My skull would get crushed one way or the other.
But I don’t have access to a treadmill all the time so my next favorite is a rocking chair. At least my feet can still move.
At the table.
I go to a coffee lounge like starbucks or second cup to read sometimes. time of day between afternoon and night time. I actually prefer cloudy weather. Usually I just go to my personal domain, which is the computer room, close the door and read with peace and quiet.
I like to read anytime also but can’t always do it.
I especially like to read in bed before I go to sleep. All year round.
I read while lying on my soft bed.
It’s the most comfortable place where I can read. I’d lock my room and play music in low
volume, and start reading.
I also love reading whenever it’s raining.
I love reading on my over sized leather couch in the living room, a cashmere throw on my feet to keep warm and a great glass of red wine after work, an alfred hitchcock movie playing in the background.
I’m such a bookworm that i read everywhere i go really. some of my favorite spots though some may find me weird to do so but i don’t care…i just park myself right next to a shelf in the young adult section, rip a book off the shelf and just read. i grab piles of books and read the first couple of pages for each of them. which ever book grabs my attention the most then that’s the one that’s coming home with me.
time of day, afternoon almost near sunset.
weather: i love to read on the grass when its sunny but if its raining i love it even more. cuz then i could just snuggle in with a good book next to the fire.
I am an absolutely bookworm- where ever i am, you will see my with some sort of book. Unfortunately, the part of Australia that I live in doesn’t snow, or get very cold, so there is no use for a fire :(
But when it does, i love to sit in my bed (when it isn;t made :D) with a hot chocolate or something else warm and in my pyjamas. But other than that, there is a little place named Rainbow Beach I adore. There are two trees at the place we stay at and our unit is just about exactly on the beach. We always string a hammock between the palm trees, and because there is always such a cool breeze, it is the most relaxing place on earth, and all you can smell is the mixture of barbequeing sausages and the amazing ocean breeze. When there i write (songs, poems, stories, whatever really…) and i read alot. It really does set the mood, and theres no better place on earth- in my opinion anyways :)
you are a poet or art lover.i can read any time anywhere.
on my bed. Any time any day. i love reading
I’ll read anywhere anytime any weather but my most favourite place to read is on the couch with my head propped up on my hubby’s leg while he’s watching his fishing shows.
I could read anywhere to be honest because once I really get into something good I am able to block everything out except for the words on the pages.
I have a small section of my room where I read. It’s basically a tight fit – there’s a large trunk to one side and you can just about fit a small bean-bag down the gap which leans against my books (which aren’t on shelves, just piled up against the wall). There’s also a random lamp on one of the piles for when it gets dark, and it’s near my stereo if I want background noise.
I’ll read at any time of the day (which is usually a bad thing, because I really ought to get more sleep) and whatever weather, but if I had to choose I’d prefer it to be winter and chucking it down with rain so I can snuggle into my corner with my duvet but still have the windows wide open.
I like reading in the evening, sitting at the dining room table. I know that’s not as romantic as some of these places, but it’s what I like. I’m still near my family (they’re in the living room which is connected to the dining room) but it’s also secluded enough to not disturb me.
If in the morning then I like to sit in my hammock in the copse at the back of my garden
If in the early afternoon then I prefer to read on the patio with my lunch
If in the late afternoon then usually indoors
If at dusk then on the balcony to watch the sun go down and hear the birds’ final tweets – quite relaxing
If at night then in bed
Also, I like to curl up in Starbucks with a vanilla latte or strawberries and cream ice drink or if autumn/winter snuggle up next to the fire :)
My bed with my big body pillow and heated blanket late at night so I fall to sleep
