Will a French press work well for cold brewing coffee?
If not, why not? Couldn’t you let the coffee grounds steep in the glass pitcher over night, then just filter as normally with the press? Many people recommend coarse gring for cold brewing anyway. And using a French press seems to me to be the same basic idea behind other methods of cold brewing without using Toddy. And for that matter, how different would this be from the way that Toddy works anyway?

i’ve read places that it’s the absolute best way to prepare a cup of joe. cold coffee i’m not sure about though.
MMMMMMM makes great coffee! Make sure your water has boiled first and pour slowly, you’ll love it OOPS! My mistake, I didn’t read it right. You must boil first as the coffee won’t filter though right and you’ll end up with grinds UGGGGGGGGH! Brew than put in fridge that would work.
Nope.
It should work, just be careful not to press too hard and you may get some of the more bitter flavors from the grounds.
You always need to use boiling water when brewing coffee.
When I use my French Press coffee pot I always use hot water. I have never tried steeping coffee such as you would a tea bag ,but if it can be done with tea I must assume that it can be done with coffee as well but the coffee must be grounded very fine ! Afterword add some ice and you will have a cup of Cafe Glace !
